2nd National Innovation Forum - Making Innovation Deliver Results Date: 11 September 2008 Venue: Croke Park, Dublin. Innovation involves doing new things or old things in a new way. How do we develop new thinking ourselves? How do we influence our colleagues to think and act in new ways? This year’s National Innovation Forum Making Innovation Deliver Results will show how you can use the latest innovation strategies to improve your level of innovation and drive growth and competitiveness in your organisation.
The Forum will enable you to hear at first hand from some of the world’s pre-eminent innovation practitioners and thought leaders such as Robert Shelton, former senior executive at Arthur D. Little and the Stanford Research Institute, author of Making Innovation Work and Leader of PRTM’s Innovation Practice in the USA, and Dr Elena Lurie-Luke, Head of Bioscience Business Development and member of Proctor and Gamble’s Connect & Develop team.

Bridging the Border - North South Business Partnerships Date: Thursday 21st February 2008 Venue: Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell, Co Cavan. Enterprise agencies on both sides of the border, InterTradeIreland, Enterprise Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland, came together to host this morning seminar on North/South Business Partnerships. The event highlighted the advantages of cross-border collaboration between small companies and focused on ways to increase the volume of cross-border trade. A successful networking session was held after the event were companies had the opportunity to meet the different enterprise agencies. Innovating the Business Model - Using Open Innovation to grow your business Date: 24 October, 2007 Venue: Stillorgan Park Hotel, Dublin.
Enterprise Ireland were delighted to welcome Prof Henry Chesbrough to present at this one day conference in Dublin. Prof Chesbrough is a leading authority in the area of business model innovation. He is also an executive director of the Centre for Open Innovation at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. His publications include "Open Innovation-the new imperative for creating and profiting from technology", and "Open Business Models-how to thrive in the new innovation landscape". There were also presentations from global and Irish companies, such as Multis Group Galway, European Space Agency, Nortel Networks, Intellectual Assets Centre Scotland and Arvetica Switzerland, on how they have used new business models to meet changing market conditions

Solid Waste Management Seminar & Brokerage Event Date: 18 September 2007 Venue: Enterprise Ireland, Glasnevin, Dublin 9. IRC Ireland hosted a one-day event focusing on Greening Technologies associated with improved Solid Waste Management. The seminar presented new approaches to dealing with solid waste, including presentations from "Best Practice" installations, which effectively deal with the increasing volumes of waste, transforming them into valuable resources. A partnering event followed the seminar where one-to-one meetings between participants were held, with a view to forming technology partnerships. This event was organised in association with the Innovation Relay Centre’s METTTES Programme - More Efficient Transnational Technology Transfer in the Environment Sector.

Convergence within a Next Generation Network: the role of IMS - 5th June, 2007. IRC Ireland hosted this Technology Roadmap Seminar where Prof Thomas Magedanz presented an insight into the latest developments in next generation networks and the pivotal role IMS plays. Speakers also included decision makers, such as directors of research and innovation, in building the network infrastructure and eco-system for the future next generation network.
Bridging the Border - North/South Business Partnerships, 19th April 2007. Venue: Enterprise Ireland, Conference Theatre, Glasnevin, Dublin.
This morning seminar hosted by Enterprise Ireland focussed on the various cross-border business opportunities available to Irish companies. Participants heard about the process involved, the various funding schemes dedicated to North-South collaboration and had an opportunity to meet with people who are already working with Northern Ireland companies. Enterprise Ireland along with Invest Northern Ireland and InterTrade Ireland are promoting this initiative though a series of such events.
Masterclass Workshop on Licensing in the Food Industry 2nd March, 2007 Venue: Conference Theatre, Enterprise Ireland, Dublin. This event focussed on the licensing option and showed how leading companies are successfully using external sources for new products and technologies. The seminar featured a global company, Nestlé SA, Switzerland, which is a leader in Open Innovation, as well as two SMEs, AllinAll Ingredients and Shalvey Poultry Ltd. who shared their experience in product and technology licensing.
